British sports car manufacturer Caterham has launched a new model. It’s a quieter version of the fastest in the history of Caterham. The calmer does not mean calm. Caterham Seven 620R, the predecessor, was designed for madness on the track. The new 620S is more road-oriented and aims at drivers who do not necessarily get excited as the best lap times.

The heart is the same engine. This 2.0 Ford Duratec, which squeezes out 310 hp and 218 Nm of maximum torque. The drive unit works with five-speed manual transmission. The engine takes it from 0 to 100km/h in 3.44 seconds and to the max speed of 233 km/h.

Modified suspension is no longer mercilessly hard and is suitable for driving on normal roads without fear of bruising. Seven 620S is still aggressive car with sporty aspirations. The modal gets performance brake kits, lightweight body made of aluminum, some carbon fiber elements and special Avon ZZS tires on 15-inch rims.

Finished in carbon fiber interior of this car is very minimalist. Equipped with Momo sports steering wheel, leather sports seats and four-point safety belts and Seven 620S is one of the first Caterham which you can order with heated seats.

Caterham Seven 620S is no cheap toy as it is priced at £44,995 pounds. But it is still cheaper than the 620R.
