Piaggio’s New Cargo Robot Gita will Now Carry Your Stuff
If you always struggle running the errands and carrying things around, Piaggio recently introduced Gita — an autonomous robot to only help you with that. Piaggo is an Italian company, known for making Moto Guzzi Motorcycles and Vespa Scooters. Gita features a similar function to Motorized Suitcase by called COWAROBOT. The robot features same braking, balancing and other vehicle dynamics that you would expect from a high-performance motorcycle. It can move as fast as 22 mph and carry upto 40 pounds (in 2000 cubic of volume). The batteries can last upto 8 hours when it’s working at normal walking speed. The robot can easily handle irregular surfaces, indoors, sidewalks and streets etc. If you have an urgent task to do and don’t have time to fetch things yourself, you can even send Gita to bring things from the store using simple pre-assigned waypoints. So far, a lot of innovative gadgets have been unveiled since the opening of CES 2017 but this self-balancing motorcycle couldn’t be better. Honda has achieved another mile stone by using the Riding Assist technology that doesn’t just keep the bike in the upright position but also makes it easy for the rider to handle the bike. Larger, heavier bikes are more difficult to handle and require more efforts to balance the bike especially when it’s slowing down. This tech aims at providing stability at slow speeds. The real magic is behind the forks (metal bars connecting to the front wheel). The bike autonomously adjusts the angle of front fork by using on-board sensors — calculating thousands of adjustments per second, in order to keep the driver and the bike in the upright position. Instead of gyroscope, it uses an electric motor in the front-wheel hub, that allows it to move by itself.

Men: Get Involved with the Meat and 2 Veg Campaign

This month, male cancer charity Orchid and Ladbrokes Bingo are partnering up in order to help raise more awareness of male cancers and the importance of a healthy lifestyle and regular checking in avoiding these conditions or being able to catch them in the early stages. The two hope to achieve this by harnessing the power of the thousands of people who share pictures of their food on social media each day. Meals are some of the most popularly shared photographs on Facebook, Instagram and other social media networks, with people wanting to show off their culinary creations or perhaps share a stunning restaurant meal with their friends. But, this campaign is asking you to share pictures of your food for a deeper reason!

How to Get Involved

The Meat and 2 Veg Campaign, run by Orchid and sponsored by Ladbrokes Bingo, is easy to get involved with. The campaign is asking anybody who wants to participate to post a picture of their meal, preferably a dish which comprises of meat and two vegetables, on Twitter with the hashtag #meatand2veg. You can do this as many times as you like for the duration of November, and it’s up to you whether or not you’d like to send a donation to Orchid as well.

Raising Awareness

By launching the campaign, Orchid hope to raise more awareness of male cancers and help men to become more aware of the importance of checking ‘down there’ for abnormalities. The campaign’s aim is to highlight the need for more awareness of this, along with the fact that very often, it’s the man’s partner who is doing most of the checking. Along with raising awareness, Orchid and Ladbrokes also hope to raise some funds for the charity. Once two hundred pictures have been posted, Ladbrokes Bingo has pledged to give £1,000 to the charity, rising to £1,500 should over 250 people share their photographs. Overall, the main goal is to raise at least £5,000 towards research into and more awareness for male cancers. This campaign can go even further when social media is applied to it. This video distribution agency would be perfect to collaborate with on any future social media campaigns.

About Male Cancer

Cancer is currently one of the most common causes of death in adult males. Whilst many of these deaths are caused by cancers which affect both genders, many men die as a result of gender-specific cancers, such as prostate cancer. Once cancer spreads, it can be difficult to treat, which is why regular personal check-ups and reporting any abnormalities, no matter how insignificant they may seem, is important. Early symptoms of male cancer can often be synonymous with symptoms for other, less serious conditions, however they should never be ignored. With this campaign, Orchid hope to ensure that their voice is heard when it comes to informing men about the importance of regular checking and why it’s always important to seek medical advice about something that doesn’t seem quite right.
