The first watch collection Hublot MP-05 LaFerrari appeared three years ago and set a record for the maximum number of parts in the mechanism. Inspired by supercar this piece of jewelry costs $ 300,000. The models in this collection are very technologically advanced and complex. After three years Hublot has released an update to its iconic model. With all new body the newcomer is named “Hublot MP-05 LaFerrari Sapphire”.
The new edition is more of an evolution than a completely new item. New watch Hublot MP-05 LaFerrari Sapphire got a body made entirely out of sapphire. It took 600 precise work hours to manufacture the body and total 18 months for development.
The decision to create a sapphire watch case was not taken due to its strength but in order to provide a complete overview of perhaps one of the best mechanisms for Hublot. Now, fully transparent case reveals a complex mechanism consisting of 637 components that work together.

This ingenious idea is conceived by Harriet Harriss, an interior design teacher at RCA, and her students. To help Syrian refugees who are fleeing to Europe to escape war-torn homeland the designers have created a coat that doubles as sleeping bag.
Dubbed as “Syrian Refugee Wearable Shelter”, this coat is constructed out of Tyvek with Mylar insulation inside. The Tyvek is used on construction site as protective shield against hazards. Both materials are cheap enough for the mass production of affordable shelter.
The wearable shelter works like a parka and features few pockets and a hood too. When unfolded it gives enough space for a parent and a child.
Currently the project “Syrian Refugee Wearable Shelter” is hosted at Kickstarter trying to raise £300,000. The mission is to hand wearable shelter to every refugee who needs it. You can take part in this noble cause by pledging £10.

The watch is presented in a 44.8 mm wide and 11.20 mm thick case and is powered by an IWC hand wound mechanical movement. That allows it to run at a tremendous frequency of 18,000 vibrations/hour with a 45 hour power reserve.
The stand-out design chemistry tells it all, when we observe the two locations at 12 o’clock and 6 o’clock. A matte black azuré subdial with a beautiful RL logo at 12 O’Clock, and the 6 o’clock position, we see a decentralized seconds subdial featuring Arabic numerals. Ralph Lauren has sensibly bridged the horological and automotive worlds.
Well, the $50k tag is not something that will please everyone. But nevertheless, you’ve gotta dig the logic that the true watch is inspired by a $40M car. That’s right, it’s a luxury!
