ProDrone Byrd – Folding Drone with 7000mAH Battery
The 2016 is already announced as year of drone. We can see more drone storm coming ahead so we’ve created a special category for drones. Anyway the latest we’ve got to know is ProDone Byrd. This one looks like (in terms of size and capacity) to certain products already on the market, including the Phantom 3 4K.

The specialty of this UAV is that it can fold to store in a backpack and therefore carry more easily. Like a regular backpack so you’d not have to buy a special backpack made for drone. Once folded, the drone becomes equal to the size of an iPad a few centimeters thick. The four arms that carry the propellers fold along the “corp” of the apparatus and the propellers are also foldable. The feet of the drone come to line up under the machine and the camera can be removed without a key.

The ProDone Byrd has a 7000 mAh battery that offers a battery life of 29 minutes in flight. This battery also allows it to carry 2.25 Kg of equipment in addition to the 1.8 kg of the drone. This allows the user to choose what he wants to use video equipment with the drone. You do not have to use the camera provided with the drone, because the ProDone Byrd provides support for the Canon 5D DSLR or Sony.

Ehang184 Could be Your Personal Autonomous Aerial Vehicle
During the CES 2016 a Chinese company Ehang presented its autonomous aerial vehicle Ehang 184, a drone about the size of small car to commute single person. No you will not be required to take aviation lessons or license to fly in Ehang 184 because it fully autopilot.

The Ehang 184 uses collapsible propellers which makes it even more practical and possible to park in regular home garages. This personal drone can fly up to the speed of 100km/h. But there is catch, since it is just a prototype, it has limitations. The battery lasts only 23 minutes which means for now it flies for about 38 kilometers only. But Ehang 184 is still under development phase. There are tons of improvements yet to happen to this drone. You can follow the project on Ehang 184 official site. Axis VIDIUS – The World’s Smallest Camera Drone
There are dozens of drone available in market but none of them is like Axis VIDIUS because the title of being world’s smallest drone with built-in camera only goes to Axis VIDIUS. This mini drone measures only 4.3cm x 4.3cm x 2.5cm. Being in this size limits some features; for example 15mAh batter lasts for only 5-7 minutes of flight. But thankfully it takes only 20 minutes to recharge. Also the camera records at 420p resolution. The video cab be live stream at smartphones.

The Axis VIDIUS ($75) has 6-Axis Gyro Stabilization which you’ll not get in smaller drones. The drone can be controlled via both Android and iOS devices or by included 2.4 gHz controller. Obviously not a thing for grown up but you can buy one to make your kid happy.

Snitch Flying Camera Ball Takes 360-Degree Photo/Videos
Earlier this month we posted about Fleye, a human-friendly flying drone with built-in camera. There is another set to launch in 2016. It is ‘Snitch” dubbed as a “flying camera ball”. Snitch goes a step further with its automatic shot-taking ability. Yes Snitch will follow you and will take shots of you automatically, upon your entrance into its frame. Don’t worry about perfect shots because before taking photos it will announce “3-2-1” Cheeeese! Furthermore it can take 360° panoramic photos with its 16-megapixel. The Gimbal (image stabilization) makes sure perfect “no-blurred” photos of you. Besides its shape and friendly look it matches the battery time with Fleye, which is 10 minutes in both cases. Fleye is the Safest Drone with Built-in HD Cam

Since drones have become the most common toy to capture aerial videos the safety of people has become a problem and for the drones themselves too as they are costly equipment. Often has been seen drones falling down. Unfortunately the drone we see today in market are not ready to consider the safety side of technology but rather the drone makers are using all the energies to capture market share only. However, this is not the case with developers for Fleye. Fleye is a product that promises to be among the safest in the world of drones. It has a unique structure, shape and looks much more futuristic than regular quadcopters.

Flying sphere look is friendlier than four-blade flying next to us. Admit that design can be enjoyed. The whole system is enclosed to be harmless to the environment and for its own safely while navigating between people and narrow spaces. The model moves as if it is levitated, and really all the mechanisms are hidden inside the sphere. Probably this will reduce slightly the speed and maneuvers of gadget but still it’s a most friendly drone we’ve seen.

Fleye can be controlled from the controller or smartphone (iOS / Android). You can set modes or control settings, or program it for a “missions”. The Fleye has 5MP 1080p integrated camera and weights 450 grams. The capacity of Fleye seems limited as it has 1500mAh LiPo which bears the 10 minutes flight only. The maximum speed it can achieve is 15km/h. Available to pre-order on Kickstarter the Fleye starts from €599.
