Samsung Debuts its First Gear 360
Samsung debuts its first VR Camera, Gear 360. The dual lens technology allows you to record 360-degrees field of view. Either use one or both at the same time, each of those wide angle lenses give you 180-degrees field of view. With just a single click of a button it may record 3840 x 1920 pixels high resolution video (4k) and 30MP photos. The Gear 360 is made to shoot, stitch & edit, view and share the media on the go.

Pairs up with a Galaxy smartphone via bluetooth and by using Wi-Fi Direct, it transforms the large screen into very handy remote viewfinder. For storage purposes, it can take upto 120 GB of microSD card. The VR Camera is dust and splash resistant at any angle up to 60˚ from the vertical.

The technology behind the immersit is simple. Four pads (muscles) are attached to one single block that can easily be hidden under any couch and they called it its “brain”. The brain is then attached to its energy source that they called its “heart”; providing energy to the whole system, small and designed. It’s compatible with tons of games and movies listed here. The devices it can support range from Playstation 3 – 4 / X-box 360 – One, PCs and HTC Vive – Oculus Rift.

The awesome invention wasn’t meant to be just another display of ingenuity. Rather, it is a success; getting more than half of its pledged goal under 3 days after launch. As far as the price is concerned, it can’t be an impulse buy if you want to take it for test and stuff. Since, the early bird €449 is already sold out. The cheapest option one can think of comes around $735. Which is no way cheap.

Leica XU (Typ 113) Waterproof Camera
Leica has released a very interesting compact XU (Type 113), which is waterproof to a depth of 15 meters. The camera is equipped with a large APS-C chip, high luminous f/1.7 lens.

The Leica XU (Type 113) is based on the already well-known compact Leica X (type 113). The camera meets the IP68 standard and the manufacturer promises the possibility of shooting at depths of up to 15 meters for 60 minutes. The camera also can survive a fall from the height of 1.22 meters. The shape of the camera has been developed in collaboration with Audi Design.

The camera comes with an APS-C sensor with the resolution of 16.5 megapixels (effective 16.2 million pixels). The camera can shoot movies in Full HD (1920 × 1080 pixels) or HD (1280 × 720 pixels) at 30 frames per second in MP4 format. The XU (Type 113) gets 3″ display has the resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. You can use SD Memory Card, SDHC and SDXC. To power it, a 1600 mAh Li-Ion battery from Sanyo has been used.

All this comes for $2,950, which is not much for a “water, dust, and shockproof Leica”.

netatmo Presence Security Camera with Smart Activity Detection Technology
Netatmo, a well-known manufacturer for its connected home devices presented its smart home security camera called “netatmo Presence”. The camera is able to distinguish between animals, cars, and people. The Presence constantly communicates with the connected iOS devices, for example, when an animal prowling around the house, when a car stopped in front, or when a person approaches the place.

With a viewing angle of 100 degrees and a detection distance of 20m, the Presence is not only effective in the day time but also at night. The infrared sensors and a projector automatically enable to record better images in condition low light or to flee intruders.
The recordings are saved on an SD card, but the Presence also supports live streaming on iOS device via Wi-Fi home network.

This new Netatmo surveillance camera will be available in Q3 2016 and the price is still unknown. Watch the video

TomTom Bandit Action Camera for 4K Videos
TomTom is a Dutch brand famous for its GPS. The company now aims to take on famous action cam GoPro with its TomTom Bandit action camera. In this sector where GoPro reigns supreme, TomTom hopes to get a place with his camera capable of shooting 4K.

The Bandit is waterproof to 50 meters depth, incorporating a 16 megapixel sensor that can shoot in 4K theoretically. The problem is that the 4K image could be choppy because the speed is limited to 15 fps. For more fluid sequences it is possible to shoot in 2.7K (2704 x 1528 pixels) at 30 fps in full HD at 60 fps or 120 fps at 720p.

The camera hosts a MicroSD port and a USB 3.0 port to make transferring images and also to recharge its 1900 mAh battery. It supports WiFi and Bluetooth. Motion sensor and a GPS are integrated into the TomTom Bandit, coupled to the integrated pulse indicator, the camera is able to “mark” the highlights in the video.

The TomTom Bandit Action Camera($397) works in conjunction with mobile TomTom Sport app, which is currently available only on iOS. The frame of the video will be sent directly on your smartphone and you can control the camera from it. Editing can be done directly from the tablet or smartphone connected to the camera via WiFi. This allows editing media without transferring to other devices.

Misfit Specter Wireless In-Ear Headphones and Fitness Tracker
Misfit is a well-known producer for fitness trackers. Their latest product is if Mitfit Specter, which combines in-ear headphone and a fitness tracker. These Bluetooth headphones allow up to ten hours listening to music and just rely on a clip-on receiver. And it records fitness metrics like any other fitness tracking.

Misfit Specter is able to measure the quality of sleep, which does not serve much we’re not going to sleep with headphones but since it uses the same hardware necessary to count steps. The company says it is for cases like when we travel and we fell asleep.

Misfit Link App covers other areas of non-fitness realm. A configurable button on the other side of the clip allows controlling other hardware in neighborhood. These are mainly home appliances like Philips Hue (bulbs), Nest (thermostats, CO alarms, etc.) Or even Internet services like Spotify and IFTTT. Misfit Specter will be available in coming months. LG PF1000U – Ultra Short Throw Smart Home Theater Projector
The South Korean manufacturer LG continues giving us awesome electronics. The device of interest here is the PF1000U, an LED 1080p DLP projector with an ultra short throw, an integrated TV tuner, Bluetooth function and two integrated speakers.

Winner of the CES Innovation 2016 the PF1000U is a projector which has the distinction of producing ultra short throw, allowing it to project a 100 inches image on the wall from distance from 38cm only. Less than 2kg on the scales, the PF1000U is a LED DLP 1080p projector (1920 x 1080) capable of displaying a brightness of 1000 lumens. In eco mode, LG claims that the operating noise is 21dB maximum. Also It incorporates a LED lamp with a lifetime of 30,000 hours.

This projector is also compatible with Bluetooth audio. It features an integrated digital tuner (DVB-T2) and two 2x3W speakers. Ruggie Alarm Clock Wont Stop Unless You Step Over it

Ruggie is the ultimate alarm clock for real time savers. But we must say that average sleeper will not be very happy with it. Unlike your regular alarm clock Ruggie has no snooze option. Ruggie is a mat with built-in alarm clock. Once the alarm starts, you’ll have to step over it up and stand for three seconds otherwise, it won’t stop. Yes two feet for minimum three seconds (or more if upon your desire) – cheating with one foot will not work. What you already starting hating it? There is more.

Snoozing just a little harder, designer Winson Tam made a touch sensor and digital display so the time, with bright light projected onto the mat. To be able to properly motivate he made foam padding, which in his own words feels as soft as a cloud.

As a special feature, the Ruggie has got a built-in speaker that tells motivational quotes. And yeah it allows setting your favorite quotes. Ruggie is available through Kickstarter for $82.
