Western Digital has just announced it’s HGST Ultrastar HE12 — a helium-based 12-TB hard disk drive. HelioSeal brings the fourth-gen tech in 3.5-inch helium based HDD, using the PMR (Perpendicular Magnetic Recording Technology). The drive has a cramping 12TB data capacity and boasts a 6Gb/s speed at SATA or 12Gb/s speed at SAS. The basic specs include 7200 RPM, 4.26ms average latency rate, 255MB/s transfer rate.
